Ms. Tower's students decided to do an assembly on concern for others, our success orientation of the month. They made three plays that are based on the following books: A Chair for My Mother, Miss Rumphius, The Three Questions. They have a different background for each play, for example, A burning building, the farm, etc. Sometimes the background changes.
The students have made their own posters for the part they have to read to from the play. On each poster, they have a drawing and a paragraph of words. The little pictures are colorful and wonderful. When each play is finished. The students stood in one line or two, holding the posters up high so we could see it. Each poster had a picture and words telling us about it. The students in Ms. Towers class acted out the three plays, the story re-tell which is based on One Hen, and a song called Kindness Changes Everything. You might guess it might be kindness and politeness, but you're wrong, it is concern for others. You have to care about other people who may not be your friends. This way you can get more friends. For example, if someone falls down you should help them up and tell a adult.
Each of the plays had different backgrounds. Sometimes in the middle of a play, the background changes. For example from a peaceful building and turns into a burning building. The students had their own parts of the play, song, and the story re-tell. All of their plays are made up by themselves and they had props to go with their plays. A chair for My Mother, The Three Questions, and Miss Rumphius.
